Margaret "Peggy" Marquis

Devoted and Loving Wife, Mother, Grandmother and Friend

Margaret “Peggy” (Bonin) Marquis, age 72, passed away, after fighting a courageous battle against her illness, surrounded by the comfort of her loving family on Monday, June 26, 2017 at her home. She was the daughter of the late Dominique and Helen (Doherty) Bonin of Pawtucket, RI.

Peggy was born on December 15, 1944 in Pawtucket, RI. She was a graduate of Sacred Heart High School in Pawtucket, RI and St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing. She was employed as a pediatric nurse and then as a nurse healthcare case reviewer until her retirement in 2010. She married her husband of 50 years, Gerry, on October 29, 1966, at Sacred Heart Church in Pawtucket, RI.

Peggy was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She was beloved by all for her unforgettable warmth, boundless selflessness, and loving spirit. She casted a radiant light of pure love, opened her heart to all, could make a stranger feel like family in a single greeting, and became a second Mom to many. Peggy’s legacy is her unwavering love and devotion to family and friends, her depthless generosity, and her indomitable spirit.

Beloved wife of Gerard Marquis. Loving mother of Julie Kelley and her husband Joe of Foxboro, MA, Jessica Wood and her husband John of Great Falls, VA, and Emily Marquis of Washington, DC. Devoted grandmother of Lauren Kelley, Alyssa Kelley, Victoria Kelley, Jack Wood, Violet Wood, Jocelyn Wood, and Julien Wood. Sister of James Bonin and his wife Mary of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, Maureen Santos and her husband Dennis of East Providence, RI, and sisters-in-law Diane Bonin of Cumberland, RI, Suzanne Pelto, brothers-in-law, Fr. Raymond Marquis, Richard Marquis and her late brothers, Jack and Richard Bonin of Pawtucket, RI.




Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Thursday, July 6th, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxboro, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 7th, at St. Mary’s Church, 58 Carpenter Street, Foxboro, MA. For additional information, please contact 508-543-5471.
