James J Finn

May 02, 1946 - September 19, 2017

Beloved Brother

Foxborough – James J. Finn, Jr., age 71, passed away Tuesday, September 19, 2017 at High Gate Manor in Dedham.  He was the son of the late James and Genevieve (Olson) Finn.

Jim was born on May 2, 1946 in Norwood and was a graduate of Foxborough High School, Class of 1965 and proudly served his country in the US Navy SeaBee’s during the Vietnam War.  He was employed as a local carpenter for many years.  A life-long resident of Foxborough, Jim started coaching the first soccer league, started CYO basketball and was also a midget football coach.  He was a former Commander of the Foxborough Legion, Lawrence Foster Post 93 and was an honorary member of the Foxborough V.F.W. Post 2626.  Over the years he served as an umpire, coach and manager in Little League, Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig baseball league.  He was also a founder and secretary of the Kicker’s Club of Foxborough which promotes soccer at the high school level. 

Devoted brother of Kevin Finn and his wife Cheryl of Bridgewater and Mary Ann and her husband Bill Simonds of Mansfield. 




Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend calling hours on Sunday, September 24 from 4 to 8 PM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM on Monday at the funeral home.  Interment to follow at St. Mary’s Cemetery, Foxborough.  For additional information please contact 508 543-5471.  To light a special candle in Jim’s memory please visit the funeral home web site at www.robertsandsonsfuneralhome.com.
