Shirley A. Brewer

January 11, 1938 - April 30, 2017

Loving Mother and Grandmother

Easton – Shirley A. (Ehrman) Brewer, age 79, passed away on Sunday, April 30, 2017 at the Residence at Five Corners in North Easton.  She was the daughter of the late Paul and Helen (Bergbigler) Ehrman and  step daughter of the late Ann Brown.

Shirley was born on January 11, 1938 in Butler, PA. Her family relocated to Stamford, CT when she was a teenager  and she was a graduate of Stamford High School.  She married her late husband Carl Brewer on June 1, 1957, they moved to Old Greenwich  CT and lived there until they retired to Dennis, MA in 1993.  They were married for 59 years until the time of Carl’s death on July 29, 2016. Shirley was a stay at home mom while working part-time at the Rectory at St. Clement’s Church in Stamford, CT. After her children were grown she was employed as a secretary for the Putnam Trust Company, then for many years she was a receptionist at the local dental office and was also a home health aide. Shirley enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader. Shirley loved her time at the Residence at Five Corners watching movies, doing exercise, going on small tours around the town and she always had a big smile on her face.

Loving mother of Babette Thompson and Kyle Brewer, both of Foxborough.  Devoted grandmother of Mitchell and Matthew Thompson.  Sister of Vernon Ben Ehrman, Richard Eugene Ehrman and Elizabeth “Betty” Shuler, all of PA and the late Pauline “Polly” Dent, Kenneth Paul Ehrman, Roger Ehrman and Donald Ehrman.  Step sister of Margaret Brown of TN, Lorraine Brown of Worcester, Donna O’Neil of NY and Edna Gelman of CT and the late Shirley Gurliacci and Charles Brown.
