Michael W. Burke

January 04, 1938 - November 19, 2017

Beloved Husband, Father and Grandfather

Plainville (formerly of Foxborough) –Michael W. Burke, age 79, passed away peacefully at the Harrington House in Walpole on November 18, 2017.  He was the son of the late Walter P and Florence L (Sullivan) Burke.

Michael was born on January 4, 1938 in Franklin, MA. He was an electrician for Raytheon Company for more than 25 years before his retirement in 2003. Before his retirement he was a Union Stewart at the Raytheon Company.  Michael served in the US Army National Guard in the 1950’s.  He was a member of the American Legion in Sharon.  Michael loved his sport, especially the Boston Bruins, the Red Sox and the New England Patriots.  In his day he was an active runner and diver.  He played Hockey in High School and for the Taunton Men’s Hockey League.

He leaves his beloved wife Sally L. (Flaherty) (Morin) Burke. They were married 0n February 22, 2003 in Taunton.

Besides his wife he was the devoted father of Kathleen Burke of Franklin, Theresa Burke of Cumberland, RI, and Michael Burke and his wife Linda of Attleboro, and the stepfather of Sherry Cummings and her husband Bert of Easton, and Stacy Hodson and her husband Keith of North Attleboro.  He also leaves four grandchildren, Steven Anthony, Paul Averi, Sean Driscoll and Kane O’Rouke, as well as four step-grandchildren, Kyle Cummings, Griffin, Samantha and Mckenzie Hodson and his loving sister Barbara F. Burke of Norfolk.



Funeral Information

Relatives and friends are kindly invited to attend the calling hour on Monday, November 27 from 10 AM to 11 AM at the Roberts and Sons Funeral Home, 30 South Street, Foxborough.  A Memorial Service will be held at 11 AM immediately following the calling hour.  Burial will follow the Memorial Service at Rock Hill Cemetery 81 South Street, Foxborough.  For additional information please contact 508 543-5471.  To light a special candle in Michael's memory please visit the funeral home web site at www.robertsonsfuneralhome.org
