Gertrude (Trudy) McCoy, 98, residing at Maples Rehabilitation and Nursing Home in Wrentham, previously from Canton and Jamaica Plain, has made her way home peacefully on Saturday, December 2, 2017 with family by her side. She was the daughter of the late Otto and Martha (Schlosky) Buchwald. She was the sister of five siblings that have previously passed; the late Otto Buchwald, Emma Buchwald, Martha (Buchwald) Simpson, Carol (Buchwald) Olsen and Albert Buchwald.
Trudy was born in 1919 and grew up in Jamaica Plain. She started out as a cosmetologist and dabbled in modeling. She later worked for New England Telephone where she eventually retired as an events manager.
She is loved and survived by her only daughter, Linda McCoy of Foxboro, and her two grandchildren, Kim and Keith Dearborn. She is also survived by her nephew, Gerry Simpson of Sandwich, niece, Karen Lardner of Sagamore and nephew Steve Buchwald of Reading as well as their families.
A celebration of her life will be held at 10 AM on Wednesday December 6, 2017 at the Lutheran Church of Our Redeemer, 212 Main Street, Foxboro.
